ICBA and the Canadian Construction Institute are proud to announce the second annual Gold Seal Training Scholarship to be presented at ICBA's annual general meeting on October 19 at the Hilton Metrotown in Burnaby. Worth $3,000, this training opportunity covers course registration for the winning company and employee in the CCI's Gold Seal training program offered through ICBA.

A Gold Seal Certificate is a declaration of skill and competence recognized by the construction industry from coast to coast.

ICBA members are eligible to nominate one current employee who has been with them for at least a year. The ideal candidate is someone in a supervisory role of superintendent and above, or an up-and-coming worker ready to move to a senior position.

To nominate someone, you must submit two letters to ICBA:

1. A letter explaining why Gold Seal training would benefit the employee, the company, and the industry.
2. A letter from the employee explaining what they hope to accomplish with the training.

Training can start as early as January 2012 and must complete the courses by the end of 2013. Training is available in Vancouver, Nanaimo, and Victoria. It's important to note that the program is a preparation for the written Gold Seal Certification exam. The employee also needs a minimum of five years experience to write the exam.
